Explore the natural beauty and rich culture of the Provence region on a full-day private tour. Begin with a visit to the Verdon Nature Park for stunning views of canyons, mountains, and rivers. You’ll also sample Provencal wines at the Château de Berne early in the tour. Then continue to Mustier-Sainte-Marie, home to a medieval walled town and towering cliffs that’s known as one of the most beautiful towns in France. The tour ends with a stop at purple lavender fields where you can explore and take photos at your leisure before returning to Nice.
The tour can start at a time convenient for you, but we recommend starting at 9 am or 1 pm.
Wine cellar of the Chateau de Bern
We are heading to Provence. In a little over an hour we will reach the neighboring region of Var, and our first stop will be Château de Berne, one of the most famous producers of Provençal wines. Here you will discover the treasures of the Château's cellars and taste olive oil, jams and honey made on site.
Verdon Gorge
Your route will take you to the mouth of the Verdon River, a stunning place with abundant vegetation in all shades of green. You will be able to see how the two regions of Var and Haute-Provence Alpes merge, with their Mediterranean and Alpine ecosystems. You will make several stops on the slopes of the canyon, where you can feel the grandeur of this place and take memorable photos.
Mustiers-Sainte-Marie
After you have learned all the secrets of winemaking (well, almost all), we will go to Mustier-Sainte-Marie. The city is famous for its connections with the Sun King Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. It was here that porcelain was produced for the king himself, thanks to local resources, in particular the trinity - water, wood, fine clay. We will walk along the cobbled streets, immersing ourselves more and more in the Middle Ages. Many ateliers offer porcelain (faience) products for every taste.
We will visit one of them – a ceramics workshop that has been turning clay into real works of art for over 200 years using medieval technology. There is not a single identical item, each product is unique and truly inimitable. The owner of the shop will tell you a lot of interesting things about the history of porcelain and his workshop.
At the waterfalls
Before heading to the lavender fields, we recommend you stop for lunch at the restaurant "Na Vodopadakh" with its wonderful menu of quail, black grouse and many other delicious dishes.
Valensole
Just 10 minutes from there, in Valensole, you will be amazed by the view – lavender fields as far as the eye can see. Not only unforgettable photos, but also a piece of fresh lavender you can take home with you.
Grand Canyon Verdon
On the way back we will pass through the great Verdon Canyon - one of the most breathtaking and amazing places in Europe with its river that will take your breath away. Don't worry, you will have many opportunities to get valuable impressions and unforgettable photos there.
