Poetic name of the French Riviera (Cote d'Azur)

Lake Sainte-Croix is an artificial reservoir built in 1973 after the construction of the Sainte-Croix Dam on the Verdon River. It is located between the Var and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence departments, at the foot of the Verdon Gorge, the Plan de Canjouer and the Valensole plateau, the Mecca of Lavandin culture.
